Safety equipment modernisation on Břeclav – Brno completed

czechCzech Railway Infrastructure Administration (SZDC) completed safety equipment modernisation on the line Břeclav – Brno line.
Besides introducing remote control for safety equipment, the modernisation assured the installation of further technological equipment control on Czech Rail Transit Corridor I in the line section Lanžhot – Břeclav (outside) – Brno (outside). The traffic control centre for the line section controlled in this way is situated in the Traffic Control Centre building Přerov.
At separate railway stations and stops, internal technological equipment was adapted for the remote control option. The construction also included the installation of a camera system and information equipment, a completion of transfer equipment and adaptations of switches’ electrical heating. Builders also added new cables in the above-mentioned line section.
Total costs of the construction designated as Remote control for safety equipment Břeclav – Brno amount up to CZK 292 million (EUR 10.8 million). The project was co-financed by the European Union from its Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Transport up to a maximum amount of CZK 221.7 million (EUR 8 million). National financing of the project was assured by the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure. The construction supplier was the company AŽD Praha.
The main objective of the project is to increase the safety of the operations on the railway.
