Oleg Belozerov, president of RZD, and Joe Kaeser, president and CEO of Siemens AG, signed a strategic cooperation memorandum at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Given the successful results of the strategic memorandum signed between RZD and Siemens on 27 May 2010, as well as the comprehensive program of innovative development at RZD, the development strategy for railway transport in the Russian Federation until 2030 and the joint interest in creating high-tech and innovative products, the two parties agreed to continue cooperation.
The memorandum provides for cooperation between the companies in the field of fast and high-speed rail links, locomotive production and operation, digital technologies, railway automation and remote control, electrification and training, and the implementation of projects on foreign markets.
