Russia and Libya to resume joint railway project

libyaLibya is willing to resume a joint project with Russia to build a railway between the cities of Sirte and Benghazi, Libyan Prime Minister Abdullah Thinni declared during his visit to Moscow.
“The head of the transport committee met with his counterpart and they agreed to set up a commission to review the implementation of the railway project.”
The high-speed railway project, estimated at $2.4-billion (2.2 billion euros), was suspended amid political unrest in 2011.
