Queensland opens Cross River Rail public consultations

The Queensland Government has opened the consultations on USD 4 billion Cross River Rail project. “The project has been refined, with the public now able to make submissions before it is evaluated by the Co-ordinator General. The revised alignment impacts on fewer properties and costs significantly less. The design changes reflect further technical and environmental investigations undertaken since the last alignment was approved in 2012, as well as feedback from the community and stakeholders,” Minister for Transport Jackie Trad said.
Cross River Rail project involves the construction of a new 10.2 km rail line between Dutton Park and Bowen Hills, with 5.9 km of tunnel under the Brisbane River and CBD and new stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street, Roma Street and Exhibition showgrounds.
