Poland: EUR 345 million for rail projects in a southeastern Voivodeship

pkp-plkUnder Poland’s National Railway Programme , PLN 1.5 billion (EUR 345.5 million) are allotted for 12 railway projects in Podkarpackie Voivodeship (southeastern Poland). In addition, there are another 7 projects estimated at PLN 930 million (EUR 214 million). In total, there are 19 projects valuated at PLN 2.4 billion (EUR 553 million).
One of the most important rail projects in this region is the modernisation of E30 Line, on Kraków – Rzeszów section, allowing trains to rut at 160 km/h. By 2017, the Polish infrastructure manager PKP PLK will complete the Ropczyce – Sędziszów section on E30 line, and until 2018 works will take place for Rzeszów – state border rail section.
The 12 PKP PLK rail projects in Podkarpackie Voivodeship include the modernisation of E30 Line, on Kraków – Rzeszów section (phase III), the electrification of Lublin – Stalowa Wola Rozwadów section, works on Stalowa Wola – Tarnobrzeg/Sandomierz – Ocice/Padew line, the revitalisation of rail sections on five lines – No. 106, No. 108, No. 25, No. 91, No. 71, the construction of rail connection between Jedlicze and Szebnie. In addition, the company will invest in cross-border rail connections, at Medyka – Mościska and Werchrata – Rawa Ruska.
