Plans announced for metro line extension to a Moscow’s village

The Moscow General Planning Research and Development Institute has begun developing a project to extend the new metro line from Stolbovo station (on Line 1) to the village of Desyonovskoye (in Moscow neighbourhood) and the town of Troitsk (in southeastern part of Moscow), under a directive from the Moscow Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning. The working name of the station is Kommunarskaya. This section will extend the new line to be built from Ulitsa Novatorov station on the Big Circle Line to Stolbovo, which will have seven stations. by 2023, this new line is scheduled to be completed.
The new line will be built in the area where 400,000–450,000 Muscovites live. It will make the trip from Troitsk to old Moscow 15–20 minutes faster. In addition, it will improve the environmental situation in the Novomoskovsky Administrative Area.
