Metro de Panamá is moving ahead with the expansion of Albrook station to enable future integration with Line 3.
In the coming days, partial dismantling of the current roof and installation of a temporary pedestrian walkway will begin. This walkway will ensure continued access between Albrook station and the Transport Terminal during construction.
As part of the work, the existing escalator and elevator in the area will be removed. To maintain passenger safety and flow, the following temporary measures will be implemented:
- New access route: A fixed staircase and elevator will be installed a few metres before the current entrance and clearly signposted.
- New pedestrian path: A designated path will allow safe entry and exit between the metro station and terminal.
Due to space limitations, escalators will be unavailable during this phase. Passengers are encouraged to prioritise elevator use for individuals with reduced mobility, pregnant women, and the elderly.
This expansion presents a technical challenge, as work is being carried out without disrupting daily metro operations. Safety and service continuity remain top priorities for Metro de Panamá.
The new Albrook station on Line 3 will be located west of the current facility, parallel to the Corredor Norte. It will feature a 35-metre-long connecting walkway with new escalators, stairs, and elevators, enhancing connectivity between Lines 1 and 3 and supporting a more modern and accessible urban environment.
