NSW: Heathcote Station modernization contract awarded

Heathcote StationLaing O’Rourke has been awarded the contract to deliver a major accessibility upgrade at Heathcote Station, Sydney.
“This is great news for local residents, who are keen to see Heathcote Station become accessible to all customers – including those in wheelchairs, the elderly, families with prams and those with luggage – for the first time,” Lee Evans, Member for Heathcote said.
Late last year New South Wels minister of Transport invited customers to provide feedback on the proposed designs for the station improvements, which was a great opportunity for the community to have their say on the development of their local station.
All of the feedback was considered by the project team, and will be used to guide development of the design.
Now that a contractor is on board, detailed design for the improvements will get started.
The improvements are being delivered as a part of the NSW Government’s Transport Access Program, an initiative to deliver accessible, modern and integrated transport infrastructure.
