Norway selects Trimble for rail asset management

Norwegian state-owned train company, Norske tog (NT), selected Trimble to install the E2M engineering asset and maintenance management system to manage data related to its leased rail vehicles.
“Trimble E2M will help to maintain and improve the reliability and safety of rail vehicles that NT owns and leases. E2M will streamline the flow of digital asset data through the rail vehicle lifecycle for both NT and the franchisee train operating companies,” said Luca Cuppari, technical director at NT.
The system will give both NT and rail franchisees in Norway an information overview of key data for rail assets, their maintenance programmes and maintenance history.
NT will use the Trimble E2M system to provide an overview on the status of maintenance and to access information from franchisees on its leased rail vehicles. This will enable NT to allocate and approve maintenance work, to update technical documentation and maintenance programmes and to receive maintenance history from franchisees’ maintenance management systems. Tracking maintenance in Trimble E2M will help to safeguard the technical condition of NT’s railway vehicles throughout their lifecycle and to ensure they meet the requirements of government and regulatory agencies.
