New app for Auckland public transport

Auckland Transport has launched a new app which makes catching a bus, train or ferry more intuitive and easier to use. The AT Mobile app has introduced new features and has been designed from the customer’s point of view.
One of the big changes to the app is the alerts function. Once you have entered your journey the app will send you alerts and tell you how far away your bus or train is, that way you know exactly when to leave home.
Alerts can also be received on a wearable device, like an Apple Watch, making it easier to know when to get off your bus or train if you are making an unfamiliar trip.
The app uses location (GPS) services, tracking your journey as you go. This makes it easier to find unfamiliar bus stops, train stations and where to go to make transfers.
Group Manager AT Metro Customer & Market, Kevin Leith said that this is only the first step in building the app. Ongoing customer feedback is actively being sought to regularly release new features to make sure the app keeps improving.
