Moscow launched works on Third Interchange Circuit southern section

Moscow has begun the construction works on Third Interchange Circuit’s southern section, the Ulitsa Novatorov, Vorontsovskaya and Sevastopolsky Prospekt stations. Within the project, there are also plans to rebuild a section between the Kakhovskaya and Kashirskaya stations, said Andrei Bochkaryov, Head of the City Department of Construction.
“When completed, the Circuit section between the Prospekt Vernadskogo and Kakhovskaya stations will improve passenger traffic near Vernadsky Prospekt, the Obruchevsky and Cheryomushki districts and reduce trip times citywide,” Bochkaryov commented.
Under the contract, this project is scheduled to be completed in December 2019 and the entire Third Interchange Circuit is to open in 2020-2021.
The TIC will be the second Circle Line of the Moscow Metro, it will be located 10 km from the first Circle Line and will link all existing and planned radial metro routes. The whole line will have a length of 61 km and will make it possible to change from one line to another and will reduce congestion at Moscow Metro and on roads and streets.
