Lithuanian railway company Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai posted a net loss of 2.783 million euros in the first quarter of this year, compared with a net profit of 6.335 million euros in Q1 2015. The company’s income fell by 2.3% over the period to 101.279 million euros.
The company’s income from freight transport and use of infrastructure fell by 1.3% to 89.1 million euros, while revenue from transport of passengers, luggage and postal items went down by 7% to 4.5 million euros. Income from other services dropped by 10.3% to 7.6 million euros.
The decline in income was largely a result of the lower revenue from freight transport.
