KTZ to purchase ferry vessels from Croatian company

The Croatian shipbuilding Ulianik Group has signed a deal with Kazakhstan Temir Zoly for the construction of two ferry vessels and for technology transfer. The vehicles will be delivered in 2017 and 2018.
The vessels will be used for the transport of railway carriages in the Caspian Sea.
“We are working jointly with our partners from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and China on joint trans-Caspian transit corridor. And to provide cargo transportation we need ferries. Today (on June 3) we signed a corresponding contract for the construction of two ferries. This project is very important for the transit potential of our country, and next year we will get the first ferry, and a year later we will receive the second one,” Askar Mamin, President of KTZ said.
On June 3, eight Croatian companies signed deals with companies from Kazakhstan valued at EUR 260 million.
