Koleje Małopolskie buys Elf2 EMUs

Koleje Małopolskie and Pesa signed a PLN 109 million contract (EUR 25.56 million) for the supply of four 4-car Elf2 EMUs. It is expected that the trains will be delivered by the end of 2021.
The new trains will be equipped with air conditioning, additional amenities for those traveling with small children and will be adapted to passengers with disabilities. Monitoring, passenger information, passenger counting, and punctuality measurement systems will be installed on each train. Passengers will be able to use wireless Internet access via Wi-Fi.
The 75-m-long trains will have a capacity of 480 passengers, with 200 seats.
In April, Lesser Poland Voivodeship launched the tender for the supply of four new trains, operated by Koleje Małopolskie. The contract is co-financed by the European funds, under the Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment for 2014-2020.
