The International Sustainable Railway Awards (ISRA), organised in association with the International Union of Railways (UIC), is a unique event promoting and celebrating innovation in mobility.
The Awards, which are open for applications until 12 November 2021, showcase transformative work that delivers social (‘people’), environmental (‘planet’) and economic (‘prosperity’) sustainability; from stations to trains, from economic resilience to emergency pandemic response, from social outreach to supporting the local environment,
The awards culminate in a gala ceremony taking place on 17 February 2022 in Berlin. The ceremony will be hosted by UIC’s Simon Fletcher, Director Europe, and Lucie Anderton, Head of Sustainable Development, who have acted as close advisors in the organisation of the event.
A handpicked jury of experts, led by Co-Presidents Christian Kern, Former Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria and Ms Anderton, will choose from the most inspirational projects and initiatives driving the green revolution.
The International Sustainable Railway Awards are presented by the International Railway Summit, a unique networking event for the global rail sector. The ceremony will be co-located with the 11th edition of the summit. The awards build on the summit’s reputation for bringing together international railway leaders and sharing world-class innovative ideas.
