Indonesia: PT KAI to digitize freight business

indonesiaIndonesian railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) will begin digitizing the management of its freight business next year after the organization of its passenger business was finished being digitized in the middle of 2016, a company executive has said.
Digitization will involve a scanning system that would automate the management of the rail system, freight tracking and car rentals, which would enable the company to manage train resources efficiently and customers to track their deliveries.
“We are currently selecting the options available, including the General Electric (GE) Railconnect 360,” information technology and commercial director Kuncoro Wibowo said.
