India: Alstom wins Eastern DFC railway contract

indiaAIL-ATSA joint venture (formed by Alstom Transport and Alstom India) was awarded a RS 1.5 billion (USD 234 million) contract from Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCIL) for the Bhaupur (Kanpur)- Khurja section of the freight corridor, the Economic Times reports.
Under the contract, the JV will be responsable for the design, construction, supply, testing and commissioning of 25kv AC electrification, signalling, and telecommunication besides, associated works of double track railways lines under construction.
The 343 km Bhaupur (Kanpur)- Khurja section is part of the EDFC Phase I project, that is funded by World Bank.
