The volume of combined freight traffic in the Republic of Moldova rose by 4.1% to some 1.36 million tonnes in the first two months of 2015, the country’s statistics bureau said. Nonetheless, the freight tonne-kilometres index fell by 6.8%, to 478.5 million FTK through February.
The road traffic increased by 22.7% in the first two months, to 709 thousand tonnes. The rail freight transport fell by 10.7%, to 648 thousand tonnes in the same period.
