Helsinki: 30 per cent of total 2017 budget for the public transport development

helsinki-crownUnder the Helsinki’s 2017 budget proposal approved by the City Board, 30 per cent of the total investment expenses will be directed to the development of public transport system.
In 2017, the city’s total investment expenses are EUR 657 million, of which EUR 169 million will be allotted to the Helsinki City Transport (HKL).
For 2017-2019, there are three major urban rail projects that include EUR 114 million for the Joker LRT, including the rail line with systems and tram cars (HKL), EUR 68 million for the Crown Bridges LRT project, including the rail line with systems, bridges, bicycle and pedestrian traffic connection and tram cars and EUR 51 million for the current tram car procurements.
