Getzner inaugurates new extension at its Bürs site

Bürs main site Getzner Werkstoffe has opened an extension of its Bürs main site, Austria, covering an 8,000m2 of new floor space, 120 new and modern work stations and specially designed high-bay warehouse that will lay the foundations for a doubling of production volumes.

The high-bay warehouse was specially designed for polyurethane mats.

“This extension project has enhanced our headquarters as a centre of vibration protection expertise, and it will enable us to double our production volumes here in Bürs. We can respond to the increasing demand for our products and it puts us in great shape for the future,” Jürgen Rainalter the CEO of Getzner Werkstoffe said.

When designing the extension, sustainability concept was a key consideration of the project.
In response to resulting market growth, Vorarlberg-based Getzner has increased production and warehouse capacity at its headquarters in Bürs with a new extension.

The vibration protection specialist has invested EUR 53 million to build “laboratories, testing benches, and warehousing and logistics facilities, as well as 120 state-of-the-art work stations. We’re especially proud of our high-bay warehouse, which is unique the world over in terms of its design and size. It’s where we store our vibration protection mats, which can be up to 31 metres long and weigh 14 tonnes, like in a chest of drawers,” Jürgen Rainalter explained.

In addition to the indoor new floor space, which now covers 38,000m², there are also 12,500m² of new outdoor areas comprising green spaces, car parking and truck turning areas.

The new extension, with a construction period of 2.5 years, follows another development of the Bürs main site. In 2010, Getzner Werkstoffe has opened an extension at its headquarters due to strong demand in the vibration insulation market. The EUR 17 million investment involved adding production, storage and office space, while expanding delivery capacity and the machine park.
