First Flirt3 EMU prepared for commissioning in Baden-Württemberg

The first Flirt3 EMU manufactured by Stadler Pankow for Go-Ahead Verkehrsgesellschaft Deutschland GmbH for regional transport services in Baden-Württemberg is currently being prepared for entering into service. As part of the commissioning procedure, all final measures are carried out to put the fully assembled rail vehicle in a ready state. This includes uploading the software and checking all technical equipment. From the emergency stop function to the sanitary facility, all relevant functions are thoroughly checked, fine-tuned and optimized.
“We are very pleased that we are progressing as planned with our partner Stadler in vehicle construction. The passengers in Baden-Württemberg can look forward to new, state-of-the-art and comfortable vehicles from July 2019,” said Peter Raue, technical director of Go-Ahead Baden-Württemberg GmbH.
In April 2016, Stadler Pankow and Go-Ahead Verkehrsgesellschaft Deutschland signed a contract for the delivery of 45 electric multiple-unit trains for the Stuttgart Network 1, Lot 2 (Rems–Fils) and Lot 3 (Franken–Enz). The order involves the delivery of 11 three-car and 15 five-car Flirt3 EMU vehicles for Lot 2, along with 9 four-car and 10 six-car Flirt3 EMU vehicles for Lot 3.
