Ferrovie dello Stato to build high-speed rail lines in Iran

italyItalian rail company Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) signed a deal with the Iranian authorities to build two high-speed rail lines in Iran.
A framework cooperation agreement was signed in Tehran by Ferrovie dello Stato’s CEO Renato Mazzoncini and the president of Iranian rail company RAI Pour Seyed Aghaei in the presence of Premier Matteo Renzi and President Hassan Rouhani.
The deal for the high-speed lines from Tehran to Hamedan and Qom is worth approx. 3 billion euros, according to sources close to the matter.
