ERGOSE’s new-generation railway projects in Greece

Tender procedures for ERGOSE’s new-generation projects, that will extend the current railway network, are underway, ypodomes.com notes in a recent report adding that interest is mainly focused on Athens-Patra corridor and also on projects of smaller scale.
In the tender concerning the electrification of Kiato-Rododafni railway section, the declaration of AKTOR as the temporary contractor is expected soon, allowing the project to be sent to the Court of Audit. Another tender regarding the electrification of Paleoparsalos-Kalambaka section, where the temporary contractor is again AKTOR, is also in progress.
The tender for the electrification of the Isthmos-Loutraki railway section, where there is a temporary contractor (J/V Mytilineos-Sidirodromika Erga) is already at an advanced stage. Signatures are expected by February 2019.
Furthermore, tenders for 2 projects regarding the construction of 2 new railway bridges on Gallikos River and flood defense works on Sperchios River in Fthiotida, are advancing as well. According to information, the contracts are about to be signed.
A range of projects is now being until 2020, including the modernisation contracts for Athens Central Railway Station, Psathopyrgos-Rio and Rio-Aghios Dionysios (Patra, Western Greece) along with the electrification of Larissa-Volos section. Shortly after, we will see electrification of Thessaloniki-Promachonas section and infrastructure upgrade works on SKA-Oinoi section (part of Athens-Thessaloniki corridor).
