Eight companies eye Israel railcar tender

israelEight companies from China, India, Japan, Korea, France, Germany, the Czech Republic and Canada are interested in the tender announced by Israel Railways for electric carriages.
The tender includes procurement of 60 double-decker railcars with about 330 carriages that can seat 33,000 passengers. According to sources, the tender is worth about NIS 4 billion (933 million euros).
The meeting for suppliers held by Israel Railways was attended by companies including Siemens, Bombardier, Skoda, Hitachi, Alstom, Stadler, Hyundai, CRRC and Titagarh.
