EC adopted the new cross-border “Interreg” programme for Romania and Bulgaria

Pod RO-BGThe new cross-border “Interreg” programme for Romania and Bulgaria has been adopted on 13 February, by European Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Creţu. The programme will make the 15 border regions in Bulgaria and Romania better places to live, study, and work as well as more attractive for visitors and investors too. The total investments in the programme are worth more than EUR 258 million, with a contribution from the European Union of nearly EUR 216 million from the European Regional and Development Fund.
The programme will focus on five priorities related to a well connected region, a green region, a safe region, a skilled and inclusive region and an efficient region.
The 15 regions involved in the Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria are Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Silistra, Dobrich (Bulgaria), Constanţa,  Călăraşi, Giurgiu, Teleorman,  Dolj, Mehedinţi, Olt (Romania).
