Dubai: Bombardier Innovia APM 300 completes first month of passenger service

dubaiBombardier Transportation celebrated the successful first month of passenger services for the world’s first Innovia APM 300 automated people mover system delivered at Dubai International. The new 1.5 km elevated rail link connects the airport’s Terminal 1 to the new Concourse D which opened on 24 February 2016.
“With our latest Innovia APM 300 technology, Bombardier has developed a high performing, energy efficient fully-automated transit solution. It will provide reliable connections for millions of airport passengers at this fast growing, prestigious global aviation hub for many years to come,” Per Allmer, President of Region Western Europe, Middle East and Africa at Bombardier Transportation, said.
Bombardier is also the operator and maintainer of the system. Two five-car Innovia APM 300 trains operate a shuttle service 24 hours-a-day and seven days-a-week. In its first month of service, the system’s monthly average availability exceeded the contractual requirements. The system has served a daily average of 50,000 passengers so far, and accrued an average daily mileage of approximately 2,000 km.
