Discussions continue for Budapest-Belgrade rail line

belgrad lineTalks on the upgrade of the Budapest-Belgrade rail line continued, as Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó met with deputy head of China’s National Development and Reform Commission Wang Xiaotao.
The sides agreed that a legal solution must be worked out that will bring the investment in full compliance with European rules, the Minister for Foreign Affairs’s statement records.
China is financing 85% of the HUF 472 billion (1.5 bn euros) cost of the upgrade, which will make the line part of a corridor for bringing Chinese goods to Europe.
