Déli Pályaudvar railway station reopens

Budapesta-Deli_deli_pu_foto_iho.hu_Déli Pályaudvar, one of Budapest’s three major railway hubs, reopened to rail traffic after more than two months. The station was closed to traffic after stones from a buttress fell onto the tracks running into the terminal on the southern end of a tunnel leading to the station on 25 January and the entire buttress collapsed on the following day. After the first incident, the state rail carrier MÁV Zrt. closed one of the tracks heading by the tunnel and reorganised traffic, and on 31 January closed the entire station to traffic. Thus, trains will run through the station of Kelenföld in the southern Buda suburbs to Déli Pályaudvar and trains temporarily redirected to Keleti Pályaudvar in Pest will also resume traffic to their original destination.
