Czech Republic to accelerate transport infrastructure construction

By the end of the month, Czech Minister of Transport, Dan Ťok, will come up with a law amendment on the acceleration of constructions works for highways and railway lines. The new German-inspired system will enable the initiation of works without waiting for the dispute resolution on the expropriations of lands.
“This is not an amendment on the surface or a temporary solution, it is a fundamental simplification of the authorisations granted for the construction of essential transport infrastructures”, said the ministry’s spokesman, Tomáš Neřold.
The law amendment will only concern certain projects, among which the rail connection between Prague and Kladno, the railway linking the centre of the Czech capital and Václav Havel Airport, as well as four projects of high-speed railways. If the draft amendment is approved, it could become effective this autumn.
