Construction on new Big Circle Line’s hub begins

The main phase of the construction of the Michurinsky Prospekt station on Moscow’s Big Circle Line was launched.
Ground excavation work began on this station which will form a transit hub with the station of the same name on the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya Line (Line 8).
Michurinsky Prospekt station is part of the southwestern section of the Big Circle Line stretching from Aminyevskoye Shosse station to Prospekt Vernadskogo station. Its length is 4.6 km and it will open in 2020.
The Big Circle Line is the main development project of the Moscow Metro. It will be 67 km long and will include 31 stations, with transfers to other metro stations and the Moscow Central Circle. The first 10-km section with 5 stations, opened in February 2017, carried more than 7.5 million passengers. The
By 2022 the whole line will enter commercial service, carrying up to 380 million passengers per year.
