China approves five new lines

rail-chinaChina’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has approved five railway projects with a total investment of CNY 200 billion yuan (USD 29.1 billion).
One of the line, the Ganshen rail, will need a USD 9 billion investment and will connect Ganzhou city and Shenzhen city of Guangdong province. The project involves the construction of a 432 km and 14 stations and will be completed in 2020.
Beijing-Tangshan railway line will have a length of 148.7 km that will be constructed under a USD 6.5 billion investment. The line is part of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei intercity rail transit network.
Another three NDRC approved projects are estimated at USD 12.4 billion and involve the Zhangjiajie-Jishou-Huaihua line (USD 5.5 billion), Mudanjiang-Jiamusi railway (USD 5.6 billion) and a new freight rail line, Shenmu North (Hongliulin) – Fengjiachun (USD 1.3 billion).
