Cambodia considers air-rail link

Cambodia-railway_2The 266km rail line will carry passengers between Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville every weekend. The Royal Railway have inaugurated its first passenger railway in 14 years.
This marks the beginning of Cambodia’s railways regeneration as the company is looking into establishing a new light rail link with the Phnom Penh International Airport.
According to the Royal Railway CEO John Guiry, the company is currently exploring the viability and ability to build the airport rail link. Travel time from the airport to the Phnom Penh station would take approximately 20 minutes.
The Cambodian railway company is in the process to open up passenger sales at Takeo, Kampot and Sihanouk Ville over the next couple of weeks.
