Bulgaria’s NRIC to undergo repairs worth EUR 24 mln

Bulgaria_zx500y290_1052791A total of BGN 47 M (EUR 24 mln) will be allocated to the repair and maintenance of the railway network in Bulgaria, according to the National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC). The funding has increased by over BGN 10 M (EUR 5.11 mln) from the allocation in 2014, according to the NRIC.
A total of BGN 7 M (EUR 3.5 mln) will go to the renewal of railway tracks and a total of BGN 900 000 (EUR 460 thousands) will be spent on the replacement and repair of railways turnouts.
Apart from that, a substantial amount of money will go to covering the damage caused by stolen parts and elements of the railway infrastructure.
Missing railway infrastructure elements are currently estimated at over BGN 600 000 (EUR 306 thousands).
