Buenos Aires issues tender for automated metro line

Buenos Aires-metrou_ok_webJuan Pablo Piccardo, president of SBASE (Subterraneos de Buenos Aires Sociedad del Estado) announced that the Buenos Aires authority will launch this year a EUR 624 – 713 million tender to build the first stage of driverless metro Line F from Constitution Plaza Callao to Santa Fe. Works will begin in 2016 and take four years. Line F has will interchange with the future line H. The alignment of the second part of line F is still to be chosen. The line will be served by seven-car trains operating at 90 second intervals to serve up to 500,000 passengers per day. The project will employ communications-based train control (CBTC) and platform screen doors.
