Budapest: metro M3 line renovation could take longer

02-budapestThe scheduled deadline for the renovation of Budapest’s M3 Metro line by 2019 might not be met, according to engineer Ervin Lakatos, quoted by Hungarian daily Népszabadság. The completion of the works could be delayed due to the unexpected appearance of blocks of flats around the line and neglected maintenance of the past few decades.
According to Ervin Lakatos, the section between Nagyvárad tér and Deák Ferenc tér stations should have been renovated 15-20 years ago, and some of the technical solutions on these section cannot be fixed but need to be replaced.
