Brazil files lawsuit concerning railway maintenance management projects

The Sao Paulo state prosecutor’s office announced it has filed a lawsuit against 11 companies, including major trading house Mitsui & Co., for alleged bid-rigging involving railway maintenance management projects in Brazil. The authorities are seeking damages of 418 million reals (123 million euros). The prosecutors are also seeking to dissolve 10 of the 11 companies involved in the alleged bid-rigging. Investigations into the alleged bid-rigging in Brazilian railway projects got into full swing in August 2013.
