Astana to open a new railway station

Astana new_railway station_82cf05abb9f1c0c5d92ac7ebe27681c5_resize_w_690_h_390In May 2017, Astana will be commissioning a new railway station, according to the Prim Minister’s, Bakytzhan Sagintayev, website.
A meeting on the construction of a new railway station in Astana and the development of Astana railway junction station was held under the chairmanship of the First Deputy of the Prime Minister, Askar Mamin. We remind that Mamin was appointed First Deputy of the Prime Minister in September 2016, previous to that he held the position of CEO of Kazakhstan Railways. He currently also holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kazakhstan Railways.

The head of  Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways), Kanat Alpysbayev said that works on the railway station and railway junction Astana are currently 80% completed. It is planned to complete the installation and commissioning of elevators and escalators in the station, landscaping and landscaping by May 1, 2017.
The capacity of the railway station is envisaged at 35,000 passengers per day.
The launch of the railway station is timed to the opening of the “Expo 2017 Astana” exhibition in the country.
