Implenia – Acciona JV wins rail project in Norway

Bane NOR, Norway’s rail infrastructure manager, awarded Implenia-Acciona JV a EUR 650 million contract for the reconstruction of Sandbukta – Moss – Såstad line. Implenia’s share of the order (55%) is worth EUR 351.5 million (around CHF 390 million).
The project includes a 10.3 km double-track line, some of which will run above ground. The JV will also construct two tunnels, each longer than 2 km (Moss Tunnel and Carlberg Tunnel), two shorter cut-and-cover sections, a tunnel portal and a new train station with 800 m-long platforms and a pedestrian bridge.
Construction work begins in October 2019 and should be completed by May 2025.
The Sandbukta-Moss-Såstad project is part of the Intercity development and is situated on the Østfold Line. Bane NOR has initiated to improve train links between towns and cities in the east of the country.
