Pakistan Railways resumes passenger coach tender

Pakistan Railways relaunched, on 20 June, the international tender for the supply of 230 new long-distance passenger coaches. The tender will be closed on 20 August, when the submitted offers will be opened.
According to the tender, 46 coaches will be fully-assembled delivered (CBU) and 184 coaches will must be delivered completely knocked-down (CKD) with assembly activities to be carried out in Pakistan.
The tender includes 80 economy-class coaches, 80 coaches equipped with air conditioning system, 30 Parlour cars (a type of passenger coach that provides superior comforts and amenities), 20 luggage vans and 20 brake vans.
From 1 July until 19 August, the bidder must purchase the tender documents. On 23 July, Pakistan Railways will be held a pre-bid conference which will be opened to bidders who purchased the tender documents.
Initially, the company launched the tender in January 2019.
