Thailand: negociations with Siemens and Bombardier for Phuket Airport rail line

According to the German press, officials of the province of Phuket (Thailand) are holding talks with Siemens and Bombardier over a contract to build a rail connection to the Phuket Airport. The value of the project is estimated at over $1 billion, according to Phadet Jinda, head of Phuket’s city development committee.

The contract is scheduled to be awarded this year. Construction is slated to begin in 2019 and last for three years. According to previous reports, the railway line will link Phuket International Airport to the Chalong intersection.
