Slovenske Zeleznice announces profits for last year

sloveniaState-owned railway company Slovenske Zeleznice posted a net profit of 14.4 million euros in 2014, without disclosing the comparative figures for 2013. According to state holding firm SDH, which manages the capital assets owned by Slovenia, Slovenske Zeleznice’s net profit decreased in 2014, from 17.4 million euros in 2013.
Slovenske Zeleznice ended 2014 with increasing operating revenues by 10% to 557.2 million euros. The increase was mostly due to its freight transport. The company carried almost 18.8 million tonnes of cargo in 2014 (+6%). At the same time, the company’s EBITDA revenues rose by 3% to 58.9 million euros.
Slovenske Zeleznice counts on higher revenues this year, especially from its freight transport services.
