Considering SNCF’s recent tariff increase as “bad omen”, the French Minister of Ecology and Energy, Madame Ségolène Royal, announced that she wanted to reform legislation about the way in which the French State controls the prices of public transport services, and especially of railway transport services. The minister has pleaded for a “cost transparency”, saying that she wanted SNCF to review its tariff policy.
