Sydney one step closer to a world class rail system

Sydney-South-East-Light-RailThe peak industry body for rail, the Australasian Railway Association (ARA), has congratulated the NSW Premier Mike Baird and Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian on their announcement over the weekend of the completion of the new 11.4 kilometre, USD 2.1B South West Rail Link project.
Chief Executive Officer of the ARA, Mr Bryan Nye OAM, said he was encouraged by the productive and efficient actions of this NSW Government on all their rail projects, in particular the South West Rail Link which was completed under budget and ahead of schedule.
“Across the entire South West Rail Link project, more than 31 kilometres of track, 53,000 sleepers and 100,000 tonnes of ballast have been laid,” said Mr Nye.
