Alstom has signed two service agreements with European rolling stock leasing company Akiem, aimed at supporting the maintenance and operational efficiency of Traxx locomotives.
The first agreement is a five-year Material Supply Agreement for the provision of spare parts for 116 Traxx locomotives within Akiem’s fleet. The contract covers approximately 200 different parts annually. Alstom and Akiem will regularly assess and update the list of parts and quantities required to ensure continued alignment with operational needs.
The second agreement focuses on the maintenance and support of Alstom-manufactured on-board signalling systems installed on the Traxx locomotives. This contract encompasses both remote and on-site technical support, repair of defective components, and rapid replacement of key systems to minimise service disruption.
The two new contracts extend the existing relationship between Alstom and Akiem, reinforcing their collaboration in the field of rolling stock services. According to both companies, the agreements are expected to play a key role in enhancing the availability and reliability of Akiem’s Traxx locomotive fleet, while maintaining the highest safety standards.
“With these contracts Akiem innovates and further structures the maintenance service of its Traxx fleet aiming to increase customer satisfaction by improving locomotives availability and reliability with the highest standards of safety,” the company stated.
The contracts mark a continued effort by both firms to support efficient rail operations and improve the long-term performance of key assets across European freight and passenger networks.
