UniWagon will deliver freight cars for Iran

UniWagon will supply 1,100 freight cars and car components to Iran, according to Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade. Furthermore, UniWagon will build 4,900 cars for the Iranian Railways in cooperation with three unnamed Iranian companies.

The 4,900 cars will be assembled within three years. The partners agreed on phased localization: in the first year, Iran will manufacture car bodies, and by the third year, UniWagon will export only wheel sets and brake shoes. The project is estimated at several million dollars and will be financed by Roseximbank.
