The new Ankara high speed station, commissioned in September 2016

Ankara_viitoarea gara_n_70563_1The new high speed train station is under construction next to the existing Ankara main train station.
„The new rail station is intended for the high speed trains that will arrive in Ankara”, Turkish State Railways (TCDD), the owner of the project, said .
There will be 3 platforms  and 6 lines where 12 trains can stop at the same time. The construction works started in 2008 and the commissioning date is set for September 2016. The project is built at a cost of USD 235 million.

Ankara high speed train station will be integrated within the Ankara main train station. Thus, passengers of conventional trains (4 lines) and suburban trains (2 lines) can easily reach to the high speed train station.

The station is being built under BOT scheme (build-operate-transfer). The contractor, Cengiz – Limak – Kolin consortium, will operate the station for  19 years and 7 months. The signalling system of station is being implemented by Tübitak Bilgem.
