Sudan receives two DMUs from China

The President of Sudan, Omar al-Bashir, officially launched the two DMUs delivered by CRRC Ziyang at the beginning of this year. “The development of railway industry in the nation is highly dependent on the strong support from Chinese companies such as CRRC,” the president said during the ceremony.
The DMU consists of two locomotives, and 6 trailer units, connected by a push-pull locomotive traction. Each train can accommodate 432 passengers and can run at speeds of 120 km/h.
The new vehicles are adapted to climate conditions in Sudan, such as high temperatures and heavy sandstorm.
Since 2005, CRRC Ziyang delivered to Sudan more than 50 locomotives and 10 DMUs.
