Srbija Voz sells rolling stock to repay debt

Serbian passenger railway transport company Srbija Voz plans to sell its amortised rolling stock by the end of the year to repay a debt of up to 2.4 million euros. The company has already called a tender for the sale of the rolling stock and plans to use the proceeds to repay the entire inherited debt from Zeleznice Srbije.

After the unbundling of railway operator Zeleznice Srbije into four independent companies, Srbija Voz came into possession of carriages and locomotives, of which it plans to keep only 30%, managing director Jugoslav Jovic said. The company has decided to keep 25 locomotives and up to 100 carriages. In January, Srbija Voz sold eight electric locomotives out of 12 offered and 270 carriages out of 370.
