Singaporean company wins new urban rail contracts in China

Ranken Railway Construction Group, a subsidiary of Singapore-based Sapphire Corporation Ltd, has secured two contracts for metro and transit lines in China, with a total value of USD 176 million.
One of the contracts envisages the construction of 24.5 km of Dalian Metro Line 5, valuated at USD 116 million. The entire Line 5 project is scheduled for completion at the end of 2019 and will connect to Line 1, which links to the upcoming Jinzhouwan International Airport. Under the contract, the company will construct 2 stations along Line 5 (Ganjingzi and Shanhua Street stations) and will also build the section between Ganjingzi and Shanhua Street stations and the section linking Ganjingzi station to Barracuda Bay station.
The USD 60 million contract involves the second phase of Urumqi Airport Rail Transit Line 2. The entire project spans 13.35 km and six stations, of which Ranken will build a 3.6 km section between International Airport station and and Terminal 4. The contract is scheduled for completion in December 2019.
This September, Ranken also won a USD 57 million contract for the extension of Beijing’s metro network.
