moscowSinara Group may form a joint venture with CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles to build trains for the upcoming Moscow-Kazan HSR, Vedomosti reports, citing a representative of Sinara. The source did not mentioned the details about the investment or stakes in the venture.
“There is no final design work for the high-speed line itself yet. The timetable and details of the project have not been determined. Delivery of trains is a part of the next stage,” the source said.
At the beginning of 2016, the Russian Government has approved the schedule for the tender on rolling stock supply tender  for Moscow-Kazan HSR, that will be launched at the end of this year.
According to the schedule, the manufacture of the rolling stock is to be commissioned in December 2019, and at least 70 – 80% of the components have to be localized (in Russia).
The RZD First Vice President Alexander Misharin said earlier that 29 trains will be initially bought for the project. Further on up to 100 high-speed trains will be acquired and operated in Russia.
With a length of about 770 km, the line will be operated by trains running at the speed of up to 400 km/h.
